NHS dental patients up 20%
THE percentage of adults registered with an NHS dentist has risen by almost 20 per cent in a year, figures show.
By December last year, 2,427,910 people were registered with a dentist – 59.3 per cent of all adults in Scotland.
The figure is up by 18 per cent from December 2007, when 50.7 per cent of adults were registered.
A total of 824,785 under-18s were registered by December last year – 78.7 per cent of all children. That compares with 71.7 per cent of children registered with an NHS dentist in December 2007.
