NHS Lothian 'will get record funding' next year

NHS Lothian will receive record funding of £1.04 billion pounds next year, the Scottish Government announced today.

The budget includes 52.3 million pounds for NHS capital projects such as buildings, IT and equipment.

Across Scotland, health boards were given 8.64 billion.

Health secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "This record funding for NHS boards across Scotland underlines this Government's commitment to our publicly-owned health service.

"It means health boards will have the resources they need to progress their plans and offer a first class service to patients across Scotland."
