Liquid food aids cancer recovery

GIVING cancer patients liquid food straight after surgery leads to quicker recovery and could save the NHS millions of pounds, new research suggests.

People recovered three days sooner if given food directly into their intestine rather than the usual method of fasting.

A total of 121 people with cancers of the oesophagus, stomach and pancreas took part in the research.
