Inquiry starts after Legionnaire's death
HEALTH officials have launched an investigation after a man died from Legionnaire's disease.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran is investigating possible sources of the infection, which is spread by contaminated water droplets.
The man died at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock on Sunday.
The victim was named as John Adrain, a former deputy headteacher, who was thought to be in his early sixties.
Dr Josephine Pravinkumar, consultant in public health medicine, said: "A number of investigations are under way to establish the possible source of this patient's infection."
