Health board slated over reports request
Scotland’s Information Commissioner has accused a health board of “perhaps the most serious catalogue of failings” for not handing over more than 50 reports on serious incidents at its hospitals.
Rab Wilson, who worked for Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board, asked it for copies of all “critical incident” reviews and significant “adverse event” reports.
Mr Wilson turned to Information Commissioner Kevin Dunion after the health board told him it did not hold any critical incident review plans, apart from one it had already given to him. But when the commissioner investigated, 56 such plans were found on a computer drive. The NHS board has been ordered to provide Mr Wilson with a copy of the reports.

Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11:26 AMNHS is about patients, patient safety, patient health, clinical excellence and finding the most effective route for patients and if that is to admit that is better served outside the NHS, then that must be for that is what professional is all about. ==================================================== no it's not it's a hideous beast providing unsustainable employment for middle class wasters who are funding vampires. People's health comes after the great salary grab.

Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 09:41 AMFOund Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board to be no better. Whenever a specific FOI is lodged is no guarantee of an answer. Certain departments are excellent, and some of data I was very surprised at the detail of the answer. Large area of NHS staff whom think they be above the law, that they could hide behind a large state funded corporation, that somehow to ignore is working on-behalf of the employer, protection of the employer or state system. NHS is about patients, patient safety, patient health, clinical excellence and finding the most effective route for patients and if that is to admit that is better served outside the NHS, then that must be for that is what professional is all about. Where does the free market NHS, prevent purchase non clinical services? Compliant I filed weeks ago, await a reply GGCHB. Tough to to change, but legally GGCHB, the board has no choice and your employees better start waking up and comply. Refrain to name the employees, they are the main contacts, anyone whom engages complaints & FOI at GGCHB shall be aware of their names.
