Doctors can end baby's treatment
THE parents of a seriously ill baby last night failed in their final bid to overturn a ruling giving doctors the powers to end his treatment and allow him to die.
Two Court of Appeal judges refused them permission to challenge an earlier ruling by Mrs Justice Parker, which gave the hospital treating the nine-month-old boy, named as OT, the right to stop medical treatment.
OT, who has a rare metabolic disorder and has suffered brain damage and major respiratory failure, is kept alive on a ventilator.
OT's parents could not face hearing the decision in court and waited outside.
