Couple off to Nepal to build disability unit

A CITY couple are preparing to spend two years working for the international development charity in Kathmandu.

VSO volunteers Gordon Findlay, 42, and Miranda Service, 43, are set to travel to the capital city of Nepal in March.

Mr Findlay will be helping to set up a new disability unit. Dr Service will be working in social welfare.

"After working for companies all my life, this will be the perfect opportunity to give something back," said Mr Findlay.

"I'm looking forward to working with very different people in a foreign country.

"I'm curious to find out what matters to them and what motivates them. We're well prepared for an adventure as we've just travelled round Europe for six months in a motor home."

This is VSO's 50th anniversary year, and the charity is recruiting more volunteers to work in Nepal and many other countries.
