Concern over rise in long-term sick leave
A "WORRYING trend" of growing long-term sickness in the UK workforce has been highlighted in a report.
More than a third of employers reported an increase of long-term sick leave from 2007 to 2008. The survey, by an insurance firm and EEF, a manufacturers' organisation, showed 36 per cent of employers claimed a rise in sick leave of more than a month.
