City launches HIV campaign
A NEW campaign which is aimed at persuading gay men to have an HIV test was launched this week in the Lothians.
Around 40 per cent of gay men with HIV are not receiving treatment and are at risk of spreading the infection.
The HIV Comeback Tour initiative will see workers visiting gay bars and arranging a series of special events to promote safe sex.
The three-year project is the brainchild of a range of organisations, including Gay Men's Health, Waverley Care and NHS Lothian and is in response to the rising numbers of HIV cases in the region.
