Care package lets pensioners cut down on home helps
MOST of the elderly people placed on a revolutionary care package have reduced the amount of care they need in the last six months.
Around 100 frail pensioners used to having home helps carry out a multitude of domestic and personal chores were put onto the city council's Reablement scheme. This saw workers help people to retrain to do certain tasks, such as showering and preparing food.
And it has emerged 60 of those involved have managed to cut down on the number of home-help visits.
