Care homes recall memories

Residents at a Bupa care homes in Edinburgh are to take a trip down memory lane at special reminiscence events to be held during Memory Share Week, which begins on Monday.

Memory Share Week is a Bupa Care Homes initiative that aims to encourage  everyone to do more to capture family memories by highlighting the important role reminiscence plays in the lives of older people, in order to stuimulate the mind.

Victoria Manor Care Home is holding an “ancient Edinburgh”-themed reminiscence party and is inviting members of the local community to join staff and residents on Monday from 2pm. To help families capture those cherished moments, Bupa has created a Map of Life tool, available online at www.bupa.co.uk/mapoflifeVictoria.
