C diff hospital 'improving'
HEALTH secretary Nicola Sturgeon yesterday praised the progress being made in tackling infections at a Scottish hospital where two patients died last year after an outbreak of the Clostridium difficile bug.
One elderly patient died last April at Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin as a direct result of contracting the infection, and C diff was also listed as a contributory cause in the death of another patient.
A report by the Healthcare Environment Inspectorate said NHS Grampian was "making good progress" at Dr Gray's.
