Britons told avoid Mexico
BRITONS were today warned to avoid all but essential travel to Mexico as experts said it was now too late to contain the swine flu outbreak.
The UK was braced for further cases after it was confirmed that two patients at Monklands Hospital in Lanarkshire had tested positive for the virus.
They were today named as honeymooners Iain and Dawn Askham, of Polmont, near Falkirk.
Officials said they were issuing new travel advice after the World Health Organisation raised its alert over the outbreak to level four – a "significant increase in risk of a pandemic."
