Believe in ME report finally put to paper
A DEAL has been struck to print a key publication on ME – months after it was supposed to be released.
Following an extensive survey, NHS Lothian compiled a report on the disease in the area. But it was left to charity Edinburgh ME Self-Help to publish the document on its website while the health board was waiting to appoint a lead to carry out some of the proposals.
The report said ME services were in urgent need of a shake-up. Liz Blackadder, the charity's information officer, said: "NHS Lothian has agreed funding for the printing of the Believe in ME report. It is planned to distribute it to Edmesh members and to key health and social care professionals."
