Hawaii about that for some fundraising?

STAFF at a city bank have raised more than £1,000 for a heart charity. The workers from Lloyds Banking Group held a fancy dress fundraiser at the weekend.

The themed day across the organisation's three officers in the Capital saw employees dress with a Hawaiian flavour.

Grass skirts, coconut bras and straw hats were evident, while bingo competitions and a quiz also helped generate cash.

It is part of the bank's campaign to raise 2 million for the British Heart Foundation by 2010.

Douglas Rouse, head of corporate partnerships at the BHF, said: "We are thrilled to have the support of Lloyds and events like this play an important role in helping to place more BHF Heart Nurses in the local community.

"Our BHF heart nurses empower patients, their carers and families to manage the condition effectively, maximising their heart health and quality of life."

Annette MacDonald, one of the fundraisers, added: "The Hawaiian event was fantastic fun and we're delighted we've raised over 1,000 for the BHF."
