Harvey Nicks casts its eye over Glasgow
THE exclusive fashion store Harvey Nichols is considering opening five new shops across the UK - including one in Glasgow.
If chosen, it would become the company's second store in Scotland after it opened in Edinburgh three years ago.
Other cities in the running include Cardiff, Newcastle and Bristol. A Harvey Nichols' spokesman said: "We are obviously looking at a city like Glasgow with such a huge catchment area and impressive infrastructure. It ticks all the right boxes."
According to Joseph Wan, the chief executive, the company is looking to build on its existing UK shops, including its flagship store in London, and others in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.
The firm, which famously featured in the BBC comedy Absolutely Fabulous, has just opened stores in Dublin and Hong Kong and Mr Wan did not rule out opening stores in Moscow and, "in a few years", China.
