A STUNNED Harry Potter fan has got the bargain of a lifetime after snapping up a rare first edition for £1 in a charity shop.
Student Hayden English discovered his bargain buy turned out to be worth over £750 on eBay.
He found the rare copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in his local Oxfam shop in Hamilton in Lanarkshire.
Hayden, 18, said : “I’m a big Harry Potter fan and that book stuck out a mile”.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed Harry Potter writer JK Rowling has tuned detective to track down the person who revealed she was the secret author of a crime thriller she penned under the name of Robert Galbraith.
She had been hoping to keep her identity under wraps, but has discovered it was inadvertently leaked by a legal firm.
The Edinburgh writer is said to be “angry” at the disclosure. Sales of the book have since soared.
