Hacking: police quiz reporter

A FORMER News of the World reporter was interviewed last night by police over claims that Andy Coulson had asked him to hack into phones when the current Conservative communications chief was editor of the paper.

The row erupted again this month after Sean Hoare made the claims about Mr Coulson in the New York Times. Mr Hoare's lawyer last night confirmed that he had been interviewed by the Metropolitan Police, but said he had not been arrested.

Yesterday a Westminster sleaze watchdog announced it would consult legal experts on whether the hacking of MPs' phones was a "contempt of parliament".
