Group to help mentally ill in hunt for work
A GROUP has been created to help mentally ill patients by getting them back into employment in the Lothians.
Many health experts feel work is absolutely key both to the recovery of some psychological problems and in staving off further breakdowns.
The group of NHS Lothian occupational therapists is also aimed at persuading staff of the importance of vocational work.
Occupational therapist Susan Bradford, who is based at the Orchard Clinic, said: "Feedback was positive, with 86 per cent of participants saying they felt the group increased awareness of the importance of work as part of their recovery.
"All 100 per cent felt the group helped them make plans towards their future work goals."
