Green bank hopes boost
Scotland has made a good case for Edinburgh to host the UK's first Green Investment Bank, a Liberal Democrat MP has said.
The bank will use the money markets in a similar fashion to regular banks but will utilise the profits to invest in low- carbon energy resources.
Business Secretary Vince Cable and Scottish Secretary Michael Moore met business leaders, as well as Edinburgh West MP Mike Crockart, in Westminster to discuss the case for locating the bank in the Scottish capital.
The proposal to site the green bank in the Capital has cross-party support, and Mr Crockart said afterwards that the meeting "went well".
