Great and good of tennis reckon Andy Murray can do it
AS THE tension grows ahead of tomorrow's clash, well-known names in tennis give their views on Andy Murray's chances.
VIRGINIA WADE: "He's got such a great opportunity. I do think some of the top players like Roger have started to understand how Andy plays. Now it's down to hard work and being prepared."
RAFAEL NADAL: "I think for sure he has a big chance. He's playing really well. He's a very complete player. Every grand slam is special and every grand slam is important to win. For Andy, I think he deserves to win his first grand slam and he is gonna do it."
GREG RUSEDSKI: "The most important thing is going to be the start. When they faced each other in the US Open, Andy came in a little bit tentative. If he does that again, that will not be good."
TIM HENMAN: "Andy is playing at the top of his game and I believe he has one more big match in him."
MICHAEL STICH: "He has to have the attitude of 'I'm going to win' and then anything can happen."
MARIN CILIC: "I think he has a pretty good chance. He's playing well, hitting the ball good. And I think he has a solid chance to make it."
JOHN LLOYD: "Federer is the man to beat but Andy can win, there is no doubt about it. Federer has been impressive at times but perhaps not as much as in the past and there is no doubt now that Andy has the weapons to exploit areas of Roger's game you can get at.
"His awareness around the court has been so good in this event, he's picked apart his opponents and he's been very aggressive when he needs to be."
ROGER FEDERER: "I know he'd like to win the first (major] for British tennis in … what is it, like 150,000 years?
"The poor guy has to go through those moments over and over again. He's done tremendously. We match up well. I'm looking forward to the final."
