Granny and Nina to drop in for Sick Kids fundraising fair

CHILDREN across the Capital are in for a treat at the weekend when two TV favourites join in the fun at the annual Sick Kids Christmas Fair.

Granny Murray from CBeebies TV show Me Too and neuroscientist Nina, from Nina and the Neurons, will both make a special guest appearance at the charity event at Meadowbank Sports Centre on Saturday.

The Sick Kids Christmas Fair is in aid of the Sick Kids Friends Foundation (SKFF), which raises funds to support the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.

The event will feature a variety of fun and festive fundraising exhibits, with the likes of tea, homebaking and crafts on offer for adults, as well as face painting, a Christmas craft zone, visits from Santa and a bouncy castle for the kids.

The X-ray department at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children has also organised a silent auction in support of the fair and the SKFF.

Chief executive of the SKFF, Maureen Harrison, said: "We're all really looking forward to this year's Sick Kids Christmas Fair and plan on making it the best yet.

"The event has been held for the past seven years and is always a fantastic success."

The fair will run from 11am to 3pm. Admission costs 1 for adults and children go free.

Bidding for the silent auction is now open.
