Grand way to learn respect
GRANDPARENTS are taking the lead in teaching children traditional values and are often seen as second parents.
According to a new study more than half of the UK's adults learned respect and manners from their grandparents.
Just under 50 per cent said grandparents had taught them the difference between right and wrong, while a quarter of of those questioned by BeGrand.net, said grandparents had taught them to believe in themselves and almost a fifth learned how to cook with their grandparents.
Jackie Highe, at BeGrand.net, said: "It is so important that we appreciate how much our grandparents can add to our lives and our research highlights how integral they are to supporting the family unit and society as a whole."
