GPs' fears over hepatitis tests

DOCTORS are not confident in their ability to diagnose and interpret hepatitis C results, a trust has warned.

A survey found that more than a third of GPs didn't know how to interpret test results, while 57 per cent of them weren't comfortable managing the infection.

The Hepatitis Trust, which published the findings, warned that it could leave hundreds of people across the Lothians with the disease who don't know they have it.

Even if they have been for testing, the charity added, it is possible it may have gone undetected.
