GP contract 'saving lives'
THOUSANDS of lives have been saved thanks to the introduction of GP contracts, health bosses have said.
An NHS Lothian study has found that since the change in 2004, 20,000 new patients suffering from the likes of heart disease, diabetes and those at risk of a stroke have come forward and are receiving healthcare directly related to the revamped system.
