Glasgow-bound flight causes airport emergency

AN emergency was declared at George Best Belfast City Airport today after a Glasgow-bound plane experienced technical difficulties.

The alert on the early morning Flybe flight happened just before take-off.

Emergency crews were on the scene within minutes and airport buildings were temporarily cordoned off.

No one was injured in the incident and the 61 passengers and four crew walked off the aircraft.

A number of flights were diverted as the precautionary emergency response was under way.
