Go green on rural course
GREEN-fingered residents living near Newbattle Abbey College are being given the opportunity to gain a rural skill qualification for free.
The Access to Rural Skills course is delivered by staff from the college and Living Solutions within the 125-acre estate. The course is aimed at individuals with few qualifications, who are keen to secure land-based work.
Ann Southwood, college principal, said: "Our beautiful grounds and gardens give students an ideal environment in which to hone their skills."
