Glow out and be responsible at T in the Park
THOUSANDS of free glow sticks are to be handed out at this weekend's T in the Park festival by drug and alcohol workers from West Lothian.
Staff from the Drug and Alcohol Action Teams (DAATs) will be handing out the glow sticks, which are designed to encourage responsible behaviour and will have the message Partying Hard? Stay Safe on them.
Young people aged between 18 and 25 from West Lothian's Youth Action Project will also be distributing the glow sticks at the festival.
They will also be offering advice and information about alcohol and drug use and safety tips for the weekend.
Hilary Smith, from the West Lothian DAAT, said: "Over 160,000 people descend on Balado, Kinross, during the weekend of T in the Park and many of them see alcohol as a key part of their enjoyment of the weekend.
"We want people to continue to have fun at the festival and enjoy alcohol safely and in moderation. Our peer educators will use the free glow sticks as a way of raising the awareness of the potential risks associated with excessive drinking and drug use at festivals."
This year's T in the Park starts on Friday.
