Glass tops class, say drinkers
WINE and beer drinkers favour glass bottles over alternative packaging such as cans and boxes, new research suggests.
A poll by InSites Consulting found 94 per cent of consumers favour the material for wine, and a majority also preferred beer from bottles rather than cans.
In recent years the Government has encouraged manufacturers to cut down on glass to reduce the carbon emissions produced from shipping heavy packaging around the world.
Other products which consumers preferred to come in glass were spreads, baby food, spirits and condiments.
