Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz - Day Five

WELCOME to the final day of our week-long competition from Heritage & Culture, Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz.

You know the rules by now. Send your answers to this special e-mail address. (Sorry, but no postal entries will be accepted.)

Two winners will be chosen from the group of people who successfully answer each of today's five questions. They will receive a copy of Images of Glasgow: A pictorial history of Clydeside's people and places from Breedon Books. (You can order copies of the book.)

Winners will be announced next Tuesday in the Heritage & Culture newsletter (sign up to receive the newsletter here). In addition, answers to the questions and the complete list of winners will be announced later next week on the website.

DAY FIVE

Question One: Name this regal and world famous cruise ship, built during the heyday of shipbuilding on the Clyde.

Question Two: What was hoisted in George Square during the civil uprising in 1919 that prompted tanks to enter the city centre?

Question Three: What is the name of the weekend market, a near neighbour of Paddy's Market, that's still run from the east end of Glasgow?

Question Four: Can you name this busy Glasgow bridge?

Question Five: Under which name is the sheltered area under Central Station colloquially known?

That's it: the final question on the final day of the competition.

Send your answers to this special e-mail address.

Only one entry per e-mail address per day. Please include the subject "Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz - Day Five" in your e-mail to differentiate which day of the competition you are playing.

The competition is open to everyone. Again, ten people will be awarded a copy of Images of Glasgow: A pictorial history of Clydeside's people and places.

Thanks for playing Glasgow: The Ultimate Quiz. We hope you had fun. Watch real soon for our next competition, from your friends at Heritage & Culture and scotsman.com.
