Glasgow 2014 organisers have unveiled the stylish tartan dress to be worn by female medal bearers at this summer’s Games. The outfit, in the official Games tartan, was created by Glasgow-born designer Kerry Nixon and produced at the Centre of Advanced Textiles at the Glasgow School of Art.

Ms Nixon said: ‘It’s a huge honour for me to design and now showcase the medal bearer’s dress and represent my home town of Glasgow at such an exciting time for the city.’ Games chiefs said the dress ‘paid homage to Glasgow’s vibrant art and fashion scene’.
