NHS Lothian has announced that Gill Cottrell will take on the role of chief nurse for the West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership.
She will head up a team of nurses working in the community and with mental health.
She said: "One of the great things about West Lothian is its strong tradition of partnership working, so I will be co-operating with the police and others to provide the joined-up services people need."
