Garage gets the go-ahead
A MAN has won his bid to create a second-hand car garage, against the wishes of his local council.
In January last year, Alexander Murray was refused permission to use a Penicuik building for selling the cars, as well as storage and valetting.
But he appealed to the Scottish Government, who agreed that his proposal at Pomathorn Road should get the go-ahead.
Midlothian Council had argued that too much traffic would be generated in the area.
Reporter Martin Seddon said: "The use of the site would only generate a low volume of traffic."
