G8 puts city in line for award
EDINBURGH City Council is in the running for a major public relations award for its handling of the run-up to the G8 Summit last year.
The local authority is up against VisitScotland for its handling of scares over Avian Flu in the "issues or crisis management" category in the Institute of Public Relations Awards.
The city council's Outlook newspaper is competing with NHS Lothian's in-house Connections magazine for the best publication prize, and is also up for the best in-house campaign for "Caring For Our Children".
The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in Edinburgh next month.
