Furniture jobs axed in slump
ALMOST 200 jobs are to go after administrators for the home furnishing chain Rosebys yesterday announced the closure of another 31 stores.
The firm was hit by the downturn in consumer spending and lost 6 million last year. It failed to claw back lost profits, and owes trade creditors around 11.7 million and inter-company creditors 19 million. Last week administrators closed ten shops – including two in Glasgow – with the loss of 60 jobs. Now further 186 jobs will go in the next raft of store closures, which include Edinburgh and Dundee.
