IN SUPPORT of the Scottish Tourist Board’s efforts to make Scotland one of the great tourist centres of the world, the whole resources in Britain and overseas of the Messrs Thomas Cook & Sons’ travel organisation are to be intensified next year.
Mr James Maxwell, the Glasgow-born managing director of the company announced this last night at the conclusion of a visit made to Scotland by directors of the company. Prior to his departure, Sir James Maxwell said that all the directors had been greatly impressed by the possibilities of Scotland as a tourist centre. “We have in the course of many years been sending a large number of people into Scotland,” he continued. “Recently, however, we have received positive evidence that more and more people want to come to Scotland.”
