Free help with food for OAPs
COUNCILS will be banned from charging pensioners for help with food preparation under new regulations published by the Scottish Government today.
The move follows an independent review of the system of free personal care which said the existing legislation lacked clarity.
Edinburgh City Council had to refund 1.1 million after it wrongly charged 580 elderly people for help with preparing their food.
