Forth Ports launches land price review
A REVIEW of the price of land at Leith Docks is under way, after owner Forth Ports secured planning consent for the first stage of its regeneration.
The firm has asked its external property valuers to account for the planning consent when providing the new property valuation by the end of its financial year.
The value of the land had slumped because of the recession but it is thought values will have picked up now the consent is in place. Forth Ports chief executive Charles Hammond provided the details in a trading statement. He said: "We are confident the results for 2010 will be in line with our expectations and we remain confident of the growth opportunities for the group."
He also said fashion chain H&M is "trading well" at its new store at Ocean Terminal, while work has started on an expansion of the Frankie and Benny's restaurant.
