Former UK envoy to United States dies
SIR Peter Ramsbotham, a former British ambassador to Iran and the United States, has died, his family has said.
Sir Peter, 90, was ambassador to Iran from 1971 to 1974 then in Washington from 1974 to 1977.
He died at his home in Alresford, Hampshire, after an illness, his son Oliver said.
