Football fans tackle blood donor shortage
FOOTBALL fans were due to show their support for others today by turning out to donate blood.
Members of the Scottish Civil Service Celtic Supporters Club were visiting the Scottish Blood Transfusion Service's Edinburgh donation centre in Lauriston Place.
Only five per cent of the population give blood and 1,000 blood donors are needed every day.
Spokesman Iain Monk said: "We want to send a clarion call to fans of all clubs about donating blood."
