Foo Fighters the first headliner named for T in the Park
US rockers the Foo Fighters will headline the T in the Park festival next year, organisers of Scotland's biggest music event announced today.
• Former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl is frontman of the Foo Fighters
The group will play on the main stage at the 2011 event which runs from July 8-10.
Foo Fighters are the first act confirmed for next year's T in the Park.
Festival director Geoff Ellis said: "Once again we are proud to bring one of the world's biggest and most influential rock bands to Balado.
"As well as being a personal favourite and a band that T in the Park fans continually praise, Foo Fighters are one of the best festival headliners on the planet and I'm delighted we have them for T in the Park 2011."
A limited batch of tickets for the festival go on sale at 9am tomorrow at 2010 prices.
Organisers would not say how many tickets are going on sale tomorrow, nor how many have been sold so far.
This year 85,000 people attended the Balado Air Field in Kinross-shire for the festival, organisers said.
Performers included Eminem, Muse, The Prodigy and Black Eyed Peas.
