SPL Fanzone: St Johnstone

Well, that was a bit of a disaster.

Saints took far too long to get going against their Paisley namesakes – although we actually battled back to make the last 25 minutes of the first half a pretty close encounter. We had a couple of half-decent chances, with Jim Goodwin and Craig Samson combining to block a netbound Cillian Sheridan strike on the line.

No game this Saturday, with Aberdeen visiting for our first taste of Monday night football this term and I am desperately hoping that we have a manager in charge by then. The big issue against St Mirren was that we looked to be lacking in direction and the ability to change the tactics when it clearly wasn’t working. It’s all very well having Jody Morris in charge but we can’t expect him to do the spadework in midfield and, at the same time, see the subtleties of where we’re going wrong.
