TONY MOWBRAY today parted company with Celtic after less than a year in charge of the Parkhead club.Here we look at the crucial points in the season which led to his exit.

June 17, 2009: Tony Mowbray is formally unveiled as the successor to Gordon Strachan.

The new Celtic manager and receives a warm welcome from the Celtic support despite reports that the former West Brom manager was third choice behind Owen Coyle and Roberto Martinez.

Former Celtic hero Peter Grant is brought into the coaching staff alongside Mark Venus.

July 10, 2009: Marc Antoine Fortune unveiled as Tony Mowbray's first signing .

July 23, 2009: Danny Fox is unveiled as a Celtic player and is seen as a solution to the club's long-standing left-back problem.

Fox's stay at Parkhead was short-lived though with the player departing in the January transfer window for Burnley.

Late July, 2009: Tony Mowbray's tenure as Celtic manager gets off to a promising start with wins in the Wembley Cup against Al Ahly and Tottenham.

August 5, 2009: Celtic smash their poor European away record with a 2 - 0 win over Dinamo Moscow, overcoming a 1 - 0 defeat at Parkhead.

August 15: The Parkhead side begin their SPL campaign with a free-flowing 3 - 1 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
