Fish oil's healthy secret revealed
Scientists have unlocked the secret of how fish oil prevents diabetes and heart disease.
Improved understanding of the anti-inflammatory properties of omega-3 could lead to new drugs.
Professor Jerrold Olefsky, from California University, said: "It's just an incredibly potent effect. The omega-3 fatty acids switch on the receptor, killing the inflammatory response."
