Figuring it out on asylum seekers

THE public tends to overestimate the number of asylum seekers in Britain.

A poll for the British Red Cross found 18 per cent of people thought the UK took in more than half the world's asylum seekers. Only 11 per cent guessed the correct figure, about 3 per cent of the world's ten million refugees.
