Fight to keep author's home
THE building where author and philosopher Adam Smith spent his last years is the subject of a new campaign.
Academics at Edinburgh University are fighting to stop the historic house, off the Royal Mile, from being sold to a private buyer. The city council is keen to cash in on Panmure House, which could fetch the authority as much as 1m.
