Fears over Parkinson's care
TOO many gaps in care exist in the Lothians for people with Parkinson's disease, a local MSP has said.
Conservative Gavin Brown said a lack of allied health professionals in the area meant people with the disease weren't getting the support they required.
At a parliamentary questions session, public health minister Shona Robison said newly-appointed rehabilitation co-ordinators would help identify problems with the service.
But Mr Brown said: "I believe there is a gap in care provision for people with Parkinson's in the Lothians.
"Allied health professionals have a key role in supporting people with Parkinson's."
