Fat dog finds a new home
A DOG who became so fat that he was abandoned by his owners has now found a new home.
Alfie the Border cross collie weighs six stone - more than double what he should be - after years of gorging on treats and his owners' food.
He was handed into Dogs Trust last week and it was feared his size would put anyone off taking him home.
But Lorraine Birrell and Colin Green, from Dalkeith, fell in love with him and have now put him on a strict diet.
Ms Birrell said: "The fact he is so big made us want him more."
