EnerQuip, the Aberdeen-based oil and gas services firm that launched in June, has boosted its team with the appointment of Andrew Robins as controls director.
Robins joins from Forum Energy Technologies, where he was lead controls engineer. His role will see him oversee software and controls requirements for EnerQuip products and services, as well as leading the company’s technical support team.
EnerQuip was formed by Dave Clark, John Duncan and Andrew Polson – three former senior staff of torque specialist AMC Engineering – with an initial investment of £6 million.
Robins said: “I’m looking forward enormously to taking on the challenges involved in growing a new business in our industry.”
Based in Tullos, the venture already has plans to move to a larger facility in the north-east early next year. It has also acquired a large workshop, yard and office facility in Lybster, Caithness, to host fabrications and repair activities.
In addition, the firm expects to recruit an additional three people by the end of the year, taking its headcount to 12.
