Exercise class: Lunge walk
THE lunge walk is a more interesting way to complete your lunges and is kinder on the knees.
To begin, take a fairly large step forward, checking that you are in an upright posture and leading with the back knee, then lower your knee down towards the floor. Start off by aiming to get your back leg to bend 90. Once it's at 90, return to the upright position at the same time as stepping forward to begin the next lunge for the other leg.
Build up to complete 30 controlled lunges, and make sure that your front foot heel always stays on the floor.
Q How do I shed a few pounds quickly for my wedding day?
A The first and most important thing you need to do is ditch all junk food from your diet, as well as cheese, fatty meats, pastry, alcohol, starchy foods, white bread and sweet treats.
Plan your shopping list to include low-fat, light and healthy meals and snacks – and stick to it. But don't go shopping when you're hungry, as you will just buy lots of unhealthy snacks and treats.
Your fitness plan should include at least three hours of cardiovascular training every week and three separate toning workouts of 40 minutes each.
If you have good motivation then an earl-morning jog and a brisk evening walk are good cardiovascular training. If, however, you need a bit of a push, book classes instead.
For results, be prepared to work hard and stick to your regime and after a couple of weeks, that dress will fit like a dream.
